Sports in AGU

There are a huge number of clubs or circles in AGU. One of the most well known clubs is a baseball club of AGU. The reason is that the baseball club has produces many professional baseball players. A famous player from AGU is Iguchi. He played in Softbank Hawks in the beginning of his career and he went to the U.S.A. to join a team, Santiago Paddles. He recorded many good results in the team. Now he plays in Marines in Japan. Another famous player is Kokubo. He entitled a home-run king in several times in Japan, and now he plays a role of the clean- up hitter in Softbank Hawks. I have other many base ball players from AGU baseball club, but I have to cut it out because it is too long.





Why the base ball club in AGU is strong and produces many good players? The club joins East Tokyo University Baseball Association and the club is designated as a special club to be strong team. In fact, in Sagamihara campus, there is a beautiful stadium for baseball team. It looks good and the grass in the outfield is beautiful. The facilities for baseball team are great, too. Team member can make use of the instrument to do workout and so on. Moreover, the team members are of course not usual people. They are selected and pass the test to become a member of AGU baseball team. All members remained the results of tournament of league in high school . However, the strong team faced a shocked situation. The team downgraded to the second league in 2009 fall league. Since 1984, the team had remained top league. OB would get angry with the result. The team returned to top league in 2010 spring league. Many team members would relief by the result. However, it reminds me that continuing to win is difficult

Feature Story

Democratic Party of Japan is now in crisis. Hatoyama Yukio, prime minister of Japan quitted the job, and Ozawa Ichiro who is Secretary General of DPJ will step down as well. Eight month ago, DPJ was very popular. About 70 % of voters supported the new cabinet. On the other hand, Liberal Democratic Party of Japan called LDP lost their seats severely and became the opposition party. At that time, no one thought that DPJ would collapse so early. In fact, however, DPJ’S platform has not been enforced mostly. For example, the party promised that they would make the U.S army base in Okinawa transfer to overseas, but they failed. That is a big reason why the prime minister quitted his job.



Now, my feature story is about election for house of Councilors. Voters are confused about which party should be government party. DPJ will lose many seats. Nevertheless, LDP still cannot recover from unpopularity. Which ones are better? My answer is the third parties; especially in Your Party whose top is Watanabe Yoshimi. The reason is the party’s policy is much simple and reasonable. The party says that the salary of civil servants or government workers should be cut off, and ban parachutist. Watanabe was one of LDP member and took action to achieve these policies. However, he could not. So he resigned his role in LDP and created new party called Your Party. People think that his done and said are consistent. Compared to other parties, the point is distinctive. In the next election, the party will get many seats, but the party will not be the government party. So, the party will do coalition with the government party which is might be still DPJ.

The championship of 2010 World Cup in South Africa is approaching. Japan will take part in World Cup. However, Japan national soccer team seems not to be prepared well. A week ago, Japan national team fought against South Korea. The result was terrible. South Korea overwhelmed Japan. After the battle, the national team manager, Okada said that “Should I offer to resign my job?” He immediately corrected the statement, but the situation shows how Japan national team is confused.



The hot news related to the national team is how to use Nakamura Shunsuke. He achieved a lot of success in his career. He belonged to Celtic in Ireland league and his team defeated Manchester United which is one of top teams in the world in Champions League. He performed well in the game. He got a goal by his free kick. By this goal and by his effort of leading the team to first place in Ireland league, he was nominated in 2006- 2007 season MVP player.



No one doubts his achieve, but now he is suffering a slump. In Korea versus Japan football game, he could not do anything good. After the game he said “My play was worst” Japan football supporters begin to think that Nakamura should not play in World Cup game.



The national team manager needs to decide whether Nakamura should play in South Africa’s pitch or not. Nakamura is valuable player but he is in the big slump. His decision is in the spotlight. It will be directly connected to the national team’s result in World Cup.

Criticizing Avator

I have never seen such a fantastic movie before. The movie lasted three hours, but I did not feel bored at any moment. The first thing that I was shocked was the movie's massage of anti- U.S army. In the movie, a military that came from the earth attempted to deprive Navi tribe of valuable land. The tribe did not develop technology, so they were helpless against the military. The battle between the military and Navi tribe was one-side. The military killed a lot of Navi people and burning nature down by using high-tech weapon like missiles. It overlaps U.S.A army. U.S.A army killed huge number of people in Vietnam, Iraq and so on. Moreover, they broke down huge amount of nature. For example, the military spread defoliant which causes pollution and make babies deformed in Vietnam. I thought that the movie director, James Cameron is American, so I was strongly shocked and I felt changes in U.S.A like Obama's propaganda (However, in fact, Cameron is Canadian). As I thought, some U.S.A military officers felt nervous because they thought that people begin to blame U.S.A military more severely because of Avator. Ironically, Avator was huge hit. The movie achieved that the highest number of people went to see Avator. Naturally people thought that Avator would win Academy Awards, but actually that would not. When I heard the news, I thought that U.S.A military would take action of interrupting to win Academy Awards to Avator. I was not sure, but it is likely to happen.



The second thing that I was shocked by Avotor was CG. Navi tribe does not exist in the world off course, so the director creates it by using CG. Many movies used CG, but most of it are unnatural, the CG did not fit in real world in some way. On the other hand, CG in Avator is beautiful and grate. The movie gave me an illusion that Navi tribe really exist. I could devote in the movie's world. I have not known that kind of experience in my life.



Avator should be worth winning academic awards. I hope that Cameron will win academic awards by his next movie. I cannot wait the movie!

Why around me

When we look at environment around us we can find many interesting questions. Today, I want to show you a simple question and I want to answer it. Let's begin!!!

The simple question is "why AGU students in Shibuya campus have only 5 minutes break between classes" AGU has two campuses. One is Shibuya campus, and another is Sagamihara campus. In Sagamihara campus, students can enjoy 15 minutes break between classes. It is strange that two campuses have different breaking time. To answer the question I interviewed 3 types of persons.

A student: "Nonsense. I can't ask professors questions. I can't go to toilet. I am often late for next class. These problems come from breaking time!

Many students get angry at me when they are talking. It's not my fault...

A professor: "As for me, what it frustrates me is that I have to wait elevators for a long time. Many people use them and they are crowded with so many students especially in the beginning and the end of class. But there is one good point that is I can excuse myself for being late for class whenever I want"

Professors also feel uncomfortable on the short break time. But some people seem to make use of it.

A clerical worker in school office: "In Shibuya campus, we have 6th and 7th period for night school students, so we need to cut break time for their classes. However, we will stop application of night school students in near future. If so, students in Shibuya campus will get more break"

I can finally find the answer. The break time have to be shortened for night school students. However, I want clerical workers to stop application of night school student immediately and ask them to extend break time for one hour!!

Johnny Depp

Depp was born in Owensboro, Kentucky. His mother was a waitress and his father is a civil engineer. He has one brother who is a novelist, and two sisters. His route is German, Cherokee and Irish. His wife introduced him to Nicolas Cage, and Nicolas advised Depp to become an actor. In 1985, Depp and Allison got divorced. Depp has not remarried, however, he has two children. He said that having children has given him real foundation which means that he can feel life stronger. His career is diverse. He appears in TV , film and music video. In addition to those, he makes wine and runs restaurant. What makes him so famous is film. He got many award and nomination. In 1996 he won include honors from London Film Critics Circle, in 1998 Russian Guild of Film Critics, in 2004 Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Golden Globe for Best Actor. Depp has been nominated for three Academy Awards in 2004 for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of Black Pearl, in 2005 for Finding Neverland, and in 2008 for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barder of Fleet Street. Depp won his first Golden Globe for his portrayal of Sweeney Todd in 2008. Johnny Depp dies after fatal car crash. Alcohol is most likely involved.

I hada job. The job was very easy to do. I stood by a gate way and checked ID cards. Yes. My job was guard at an university. I enjoyed the job because my role was very simple and pay was good. I hoped that I wanted to do the job for my life. However, my happy moment did not last so long. One day, I saw the man who seemed suspicious. He peeped something over me. He suddenly tried to walk through the gate without showing his ID. Naturally I stopped him and asked him to show his ID card.
"Oh, do I have to do this?" He said.
"Yes, of course! Did not you know? Are you a student in this university?"
"Ah, yeah, of course! I did but... I just forgot to bring it"
"Really?"
"Yes. I... I entered the gate in this morning, but I lost my wallet which had my ID card, so I want to take this. please let me through"
"What do you have in your small bag? Show me please"
"ah..."
"Show me!"
"OK, OK"

There is a camera in his bag, only camera.

"Why do you have camera?" I asked. "Why... Why do you ask so many question!? Are you my parents? Shout up!"

He suddenly got angry.

"Do you suspect me as a pervert? That's a nonsense!"

"I am sorry but..."

"You should apologize at me"

"I know what you want to say but it is my job"

"If you say so I have to sue you for defamation!"

"What?"

"I will sue you for defamation!!!"

I want to avoid this troublesome situation. So I let him pass the gate.Two or three hour after, ambulance approached the gate and got in the university.I did not have idea of what it happened at that time.Next day, I watched a newspaper and I noticed a picture of face that I had seen yesterday.In this article, writer said that an university student was killed by stalker at the university nevertheless there is a guard at the gate way.I was shocked. If I let him not to pass, the case of murder would not happen.Immedietly I phoned to the university and I tell that I would quit mu job. I thought the job is easy, but I misunderstanded.
