Democratic Party of Japan is now in crisis. Hatoyama Yukio, prime minister of Japan quitted the job, and Ozawa Ichiro who is Secretary General of DPJ will step down as well. Eight month ago, DPJ was very popular. About 70 % of voters supported the new cabinet. On the other hand, Liberal Democratic Party of Japan called LDP lost their seats severely and became the opposition party. At that time, no one thought that DPJ would collapse so early. In fact, however, DPJ’S platform has not been enforced mostly. For example, the party promised that they would make the U.S army base in Okinawa transfer to overseas, but they failed. That is a big reason why the prime minister quitted his job.



Now, my feature story is about election for house of Councilors. Voters are confused about which party should be government party. DPJ will lose many seats. Nevertheless, LDP still cannot recover from unpopularity. Which ones are better? My answer is the third parties; especially in Your Party whose top is Watanabe Yoshimi. The reason is the party’s policy is much simple and reasonable. The party says that the salary of civil servants or government workers should be cut off, and ban parachutist. Watanabe was one of LDP member and took action to achieve these policies. However, he could not. So he resigned his role in LDP and created new party called Your Party. People think that his done and said are consistent. Compared to other parties, the point is distinctive. In the next election, the party will get many seats, but the party will not be the government party. So, the party will do coalition with the government party which is might be still DPJ.
