Depp was born in Owensboro, Kentucky. His mother was a waitress and his father is a civil engineer. He has one brother who is a novelist, and two sisters. His route is German, Cherokee and Irish. The family moved frequently during childhood of Depp. He lived in more than 20 different places. In 1978, Depp’s parents got divorced. Because of the stress of family problems and his own insecurity he engaged in self-harm which is seven or eight scars. A year after his parents’ divorce, he dropped out of high school. He wanted to be a rock musician. He played with The Kids, a band that was successful in local area. The band group went to Los Angeles to get a record deal, and he got chance of collaborating with Rock City Angels. In 1983, Depp got married with Lori Anne Allison who was a makeup artist. His wife introduced him to Nicolas Cage, and Nicolas advised Depp to become an actor. In 1985, Depp and Allison got divorced. Depp has not remarried, however, he has two children. He said that having children has given him real foundation which means that he can feel life stronger. His career is diverse. He appears in TV , film and music video. In addition to those, he makes wine and runs restaurant. What makes him so famous is film. He got many award and nomination. In 1996 he won include honors from London Film Critics Circle, in 1998 Russian Guild of Film Critics, in 2004 Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Golden Globe for Best Actor. Depp has been nominated for three Academy Awards in 2004 for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of Black Pearl, in 2005 for Finding Neverland, and in 2008 for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barder of Fleet Street.
